Objective Intravascular stent implantation is an important method for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.This paper provides the references for the development of China’s stent technology based on the retrieval and subsequent analyses of stent related patents.Methods We analyze the patents of the intravascular stents based on the WIPO patent scope and SIPO.We set stent,intravascular,metal,bare metal,coating,drug-eluting,bioabsorbable,biodegradable etc.as key words and then summarize the results according to different time,different applicants and different IPC classification numbers.Results Nowadays,the developed countries headed by the United States are still the leaders in this technology,and especially,the United States is far ahead of other countries in the world.In our country,the technology has broken the monopoly of foreign technology giants in the domestic market.Shanghai ranked first in the application area in China.The United States is the largest in the number of patent applications abroad in China.In the future,biodegradable stents will become the mainstream trend on coronary stent.Conclusion Global endovascular stent is in a steady development stage.Stent technology and products from China have occupied the domestic market,completely breaking the foreign giants’ monopoly.
