The research of brain structure plays a significant role for the study of brainrelated diseases and brain function. With the introduction of computer vision and mathematics methods, the surface modeling and shape analysis attach more attention. The caudate nucleus is a critical structure in human brain, especially in its cognitive correlates in brain activities. In this paper, we develop a semiautomatic segmentation method for tracing the caudate nucleus in MRI for absolute volume as well as the normalized volume, and the skeleton model is given using thinning algorithm. Finally, marching cube algorithm is used to establish a satisfying threedimensional reconstruction.
