Data acquisition system is playing a key role in digital medical ultrasonic imaging equipment. This article introduces a data acquisition system applied to ultrasonic imaging. This system is composed of analog-to-digital convertor AD9228 from Analog Devices Inc and the relevant digital circuitry, including field programmable gate array(FPGA) and static random access memory(SRAM), for establishing the control and data caching modules. The acquisited data is tested with Chipscope. The testing results demonstrate the system sample the right data, and FPGA receives the output signals from the AD correctly, completes serial-to-parallel and data caching function. It is indicated that the system can work stably at acquisition and caching rate of 40MHz, and satisfies the requirement of medical ultrasonic imaging.
