Objecteve To investigate the significance of evidence-based medicine approach to neurology teaching. Methods The paper explores the main shortcomings of traditional clinical teaching model,analyses the advantages and necessities of the introduction of evidence-based medicine approach to neurology teaching. The methods and procedures of evidence-based medicine are explained with some examples. Results The introduction of evidence-based medicine approach to neurology teaching can integrate the courses of neurology,clinical epidemiology,medical statistics and literature retrieval,and encourage students to study. Conclusions The introduction of evidence-based medicine approach is propitious to the enhancement of the horizontal linkage between courses and maximizes the learning effect.
