In last decade,biosensors based on surface plasmon resonance(SPR) have been widely used for biomedical and clinical researches,and the biosensors based on SPR are becoming higher accurate and more portable.The SPR technique has the advantages of real-time response,high accuracy,and it is reusable.Advanced surface chemistry helps to combine more and more receptors onto the surface of the SPR biosensors to increase the specificity,which enables the real-time serum sample measurement.This paper focuses on the physical mechanism and the marketing of the main stream commercialized SPR instruments and their clinical applications.
