Repair and reconstruction of tissue and organ is one of the major problems in biology and clinical medicine.Stem cell therapy provides a new idea for regenerative medicine.Adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) are in adipose tissue, have self-renewal and differentiation potentials of adult stem cells, similar to bone marrow stem cells, and gradually become the seed cells for tissue engineering.This paper reviews the biological characteristics of ADSCs, elaborates phenotype, differentiation potential, culture and amplification methods of ADSCs, and preclinical experiments of certain diseases.The feasibility of ADSCs as a source of stem cells is analyzed, and the research status and development prospects of ADSCs in bone tissue engineering are summarized.
