Objective To evaluate the biomechanical characteristics of myocardial morphological changes by using three-dimensional speckle tracking image(3DT) in patients without coronary lesions detected by angiography. Methods Twenty-four patients, without significant coronary lesions detected by angiography, were involved in the echocardiography examination and longitudinal strain analysis by using the 3DT. Results Patients without coronary lesions detected by angiography had the concerted motion of left ventricular. The longitudinal strain was negative, and the peak systolic longitudinal strain was -14.27% ± 4.29%. The maximum absolute value of peak longitudinal strain was at the apical segment, while the minimum one was at basal segment. The differences of peak longitudinal strain between apical segment and middle segment or basal segment were significant (P<0.01), yet="" the="" difference="" between="" middle="" segment="" and="" basal="" was="" not="" significant="" p="">0.05). Conclusions Evaluation of the left ventricular biomechanical characteristics of myocardial morphological changes by 3DT in patients without significant coronary lesions detected by angiography was a convenient and fast method.
