Objective Light sleep and deep sleep alternate iteratively during the sleep. It is important to analyze the change of EEG during the light sleep for the research of sleep efficiency and quality. The EEG response during the light sleep under photon stimulation is studied by analyzing the EEG change in this paper in order to explore the impact of photon stimulation on sleep EEG. Methods Ten volunteers’ EEG of photon stimulation and normal sleep are gained by Neuroscan. Firstly, the EEG data of light sleep are obtained by using time-frequency analysis. Secondly, the EEG with different frequency is gained by processing the data with Fourier transform, and then the energy of EEG is calculated. Finally, the light sleep EEG energy in normal sleep and photon stimulation(5Hz)sleep is compared. Results The EEG theta rhythm energy under photon stimulation is obviously higher than normal sleep, especially in central and parietal region. Conclusions Cerebral cortex enters the inhibition state with a more stable way under photon stimulation, which is helpful for deep sleep.
