Objective To improve the accuracy of temperature distribution simulation for microwave ablation, this paper studies on a new method for solving specific absorption rate of microwave ablation antennas. Methods With 2450 MHz cooled microwave antenna ablating phantom as the research objects and according to the Pennes bio-heat transfer equation,a new measurement method is proposed to solve specific absorption rate of microwave antennas including heat-transfer item, and finite element analysis is adopted to simulate the temperature distribution, and is compared with experimental results to verify the accuracy of the simulation. Results The simulated temperatures coincide with the experimental results. The maximum temperature difference is 2.71℃,and the average is 0.73℃,with high consistency. Conclusions By the new method including heat-transfer item for solving the specific absorption rate, the temperature distribution accuracy of finite element analysis for microwave ablation is significantly improved.
