As a safe and highly-efficient tumor therapy, magnetic fluid hyperthermia (MFH) technique has developed rapidly in recent years. One of the most important techniques in MFH is the temperature monitoring of tumors. Ultrasonic nondestructive temperature monitoring techniques have been paid great attention in MFH tumor thermotherapy because they can achieve exact and real-time temperature monitoring. Thus, they have become one of the most important temperature detecting methods in MFH. In this paper, the recent research and development of ultrasonic nondestructive temperature monitoring techniques for MFH are reviewed. The current status of certain common nondestructive temperature monitoring techniques is firstly introduced. Then, the development of ultrasound nondestructive temperature monitoring for MFH is emphatically presented. Finally, the future development trend of ultrasound nondestructive temperature monitoring is prospected.
